This colorway is made by starting with a very soft layer of green dye and then pouring over a generous helping of orchid and half as much old gold. Once those colors have set I flip the yarn and pour over a strong dose of Copenhagen Blue, flipping the yarn half way to ensure the blue sets on both sides.

Lapis Lazuli came to be in play, as all my best colorways do. A simple thought, would this look good with that? The answer isn’t always yes, but more often than not it is! I really wanted something blue since I don’t have a lot of blue colorways and Copenhagen blue is my all time favorite. Initially I had no idea what I was going to call it, when one of my lovely local customers came in and suggested that it looked like Lapis Lazuli and I thought that was perfect! I love doing sneak peaks of new colorways with my locals, it always makes me extra excited to release a colorway into the wild!

Lapis Lazuli would pair well with Deep Sea, Lavender, Shadow, or Fog from the featured collection, but it is definitely a complex enough colorway to stand on its own!

Lapis Lazuli will be available throughout the month of May on Nimble Sock, Plush Single, and Plush DK.

Please use the drop down menu to choose the base that you would like to order.

Nimble Sock

Superwash Merino Wool/ Nylon (85/15), 19.5 micron merino

Fingering Weight, 2 ply

394 Yards, 100 g

*****

Plush Single

3.5 oz/ 430 Yards
Single / Fingering Weight

19.5 Micron Superwash merino wool

When held double this yarn will create a DK yarn.

*****

Plush DK

100 Grams/ 246 yards

4 ply / DK Weight

19.5 Micron Superwash merino wool

When held double this yarn will create a Bulky weight yarn.

****

All ontheround yarn bases are certified cruelty free.

Superwash yarn is technically machine washable in a gentle cycle with like colors, I do however recommend hand washing your knits made with superwash yarn as the washer will tug and pull at your knits causing them to lose their shape or worse rip. I was my knits in the sink using luke warm water and Long Winter Farm Sweater Soap. This soap has lanolin in it which protects the natural fibers. I spot wash any stains and allow my sweater to soak for approximately 30 minutes. Rinse your sweater with cool water if necessary and them gently wring out any extra water, I use my top load washer spin cycle this this, but you can use a towel as well. After the excess water is removed, lay your garment flat to air dry.

This fiber was handdyed by ontheround using professional quality acid dyes. I dye my yarn in small batches and no skein will be 100% the same- that's what makes working with hand dyed yarn so fun!

I do my very best to accurately photograph my yarns but please note that not all monitors are the same.
